Special Event Guarding
The role of the security guard has changed significantly recently, involving increasing responsibilities and the use of high technology. All our personnel should not only be able to take control of any situation in a calm, confident manner, but should be seen to be doing so. By using appropriate behaviour, the security guard becomes more effective and in doing so, a better service for the client is provided.
The main objectives of security guards are:-
The protection of life
The protection of property and premises
The prevention of loss and waste
The prevention and deterring of crime
The Private Security Industry Act came into being on 11 May 2001 and states that those working within it need to be licensed to operate. The SIA – Security Industry Authority - regulates the industry and it is now illegal to work as a security officer without an SIA licence. This applies to contract staff only.
